A New York Week.

This week has been New York week.

While I love everything about this City—Abraham Lincoln referred to it as The Nation’s Front Door—I can only visit occasionally (not workin right now), and then have to be judicious about networking, and finding out about events: Art Openings, Exhibitions, stuff like that. Some days too, it just makes sense to get to someplace that’s really inspiring, and gives me an opportunity to create a vision of hope.

Networking & Events

Well, The original idea for the visit started with an announcement from my friend, Tai Lin, that he was having an opening. From there, the Tim Burton Exhibit @ MOMA (NYC), and Robert Blanchon at the NYU Galleries seemed to make for a good opportunity for a trip.

As it worked out, I also got to do a lunch with my friend Wayne who directs the Leslie-Lohman Foundation gallery (the Foundation owns a couple of my works), and the conversation turned around the possibility to exhibit some work, and a lead on a new Doctoral program that I am interested in.

Well, All in a couple of days work, and based on fifteen years of keeping in touch.

Remember, I forget who says it: "Do good work 'n keep in touch."

Just a begining.

Durring a time of hardship & conflict, now some 15 years past, my mentor at Otis, Scott Grieger, told me: "Live well and keep 'em guessing." Over the next little while, I'd like to talk with you-all about how that bit of advise informs my life, Everyday.
